Creating the “Man Basket” has become a really fun tradition now. If you didn’t know, I’m a board member for a local not for profit, SIDEWAYS Contemporary Dance Company (my wife is also a dancer). In an effort to raise money (for outreach performances, paying the dancers, etc) I started to put together the “Man Basket” to be raffled off at their performances in the summer and winter.
Local businesses in Atlanta, and even some that we have partnered with via The Trot Line such as Ewin’s Dry Goods and Huckberry, have donated to the Man Basket in the past. This year, we had an equally awesome basket put together for the “Once Upon A Holiday” performance attendees.
Found in the 2013 Winter Basket
- Jim Beam Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey – Donated by Cherry’s Liquor in Roswell, GA
- Tie and Pocket Square Combo – Lumina
- Hand Forged Throwing Ax (plus an assortment of other gifts) – MTN Man Toy Shop
- Chef Knife – New West KnifeWorks
The Man Basket was a huge hit! Thank you to everyone who generously donated their products and money to make it such a success.
