Baklava Reimagined: Gooey, Sweet, and Southern

November 21, 2017 By Kevin Ekmark

Southern Baklava - Sweet Treats

Taste of the South – Sweet Treats from Atlanta

Y’all listen up, because the South has got something to say about making amazing food.

I don’t miss the traffic, or the generally stressed out east coast vibe of Atlanta. But oh man. I miss the food! Kevin Sandlin and his wife, Angel, must have known that I needed a little taste of home. They were kind enough to bake some fresh, sweet Southern Baklava and ship it to Denver, Colorado.

Southern Baklava is the dedicated eCommerce arm of The Bread of Angels, a Cottage Licensed Bakery in Roswell, Georgia. Angel’s twist on a traditional baklava includes Georgia pecans and Georgia honey.

We enjoyed Angel’s Southern Baklava hot, cold, hot covered in cold ice cream, and even with a little bourbon drizzled on top. There are plenty of great ways to enjoy this ancient treat. It’s simply amazing.

Just for Georgia… For Now.

If you live in Georgia, lucky you. As of this posting, Southern Baklava is only shipping in Georgia.

Don’t worry though. They have plans to expand past the Peach State!

If you don’t fall within the state border of Georgia, you can sign up for their newsletter or find them on Facebook to keep an eye out for nationwide shipping.

Don’t miss out on this sweet treat from the South.
